Barbie Forteza's post about Christmas rush on EDSA a hit among netizens
The Christmas rush is definitely in full swing, and for many citizens living in Metro Manila, heavy traffic while traversing the major thoroughfares, particularly the very busy EDSA, has been a daily struggle.
Take for example Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza, who posted yesterday (December 12) on X (formerly Twitter) her experience going through EDSA during rush hour.
In her tweet, Barbie said, “Sige nga kung matapang ka, mag-edsa ka from Makati to QC ng 5PM. dapat nasa QC ka ng 6PM ah.”
She also tweeted:
Later that evening, the Pulang Araw lead actress posted another photo of the traffic situation along EDSA and quipped, “guys, alas diyes y medya na. pauwiin niyo na 'ko pls.”
Several fans and netizens reacted to Barbie's post and shared their own experience in the heavy traffic during this Christmas season.
Yesterday, Barbie was one of the A-list celebrities who attended the advance screening of the MMFF 2023 entry Firefly at SM North Edsa. Also spotted at the same event were Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Marquez Dee, GMA Public Affairs personalities Jessica Soho, Kara David, and Atom Araullo.
Sparkle artists Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, and Raphael Landicho also showed up to support the incredible film starring Alessandra De Rossi, Euwenn Mikaell, Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, and many others.

In a Dec. 6 report by GMA News Online, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) warned motorists about the heavy traffic starting from December 7 leading up to Christmas day.
MMDA Chairman Attorney Romando Artes also said in a recent radio interview, “Unang una po payday weekend po yan so marami po magla-last minute shopping at yung 22 naman po, yun yung weekend going to Christmas so 'yun na po yung inaasahan nating influx ng uuwi sa probinsya sa kapaskuhan,
“Tingin naman po namin kaya namin i-manage yung traffic, na 'di naman po magiging traffic. Gagalaw naman po, hindi magsta-standstill nang matagal. Moving naman po yung ating mga sasakyan and we'll make sure na ima-manage namin well ang ating mga lansangan para wag umabot sa level na yan."
