Anton Paras performs second single 'Can't Wait' on 'Spotlight Music Sessions'
Kapuso singer Anton Paras recently released his second single, "Can't Wait", and performed it on Friday, December 15, on Spotlight Music Sessions.
In an interview with GMANetwork.com, Anton revealed that his main inspiration for the song is long-distance relationships (LDR). However, he clarified that “it's not totally about 'yung mga lovers.”
“It's also for family members na OFWs na magkalayo po sila. The song is about giving hope to long-distance relationships and family members na kahit gaano man kahirap ngayon, [at] the right time, magsasama pa rin po sila,” he said.
Even with the theme of the song being about LDR, Anton revealed that he has not experienced it before, and said that he drew inspiration from the things he saw on TV.
“Gusto ko po gumawa ng song na makaka-relate po sa marami and nakikita ko po, marami na pong ganitong relationships po and mga family members,” he said.
Meanwhile, Anton recently celebrated the anniversary of his contract signing with one of GMA Music's labels, AltG Records, and according to the singer-songwriter, he's been happy with the journey so far.
“Nacha-challenge po 'yung self ko kasi recently with my recent songs, 'yung 'Can't Wait,' nakaka-challenge po kasi first time ko po gumawa ng ganung kind of genre na medyo upbeat po,” he said.

He added that while it's challenging, it's also “super fun” to produce and record songs. Anton also revealed that he's been working on new songs to present to the record label.
“I'm creating songs po para ma-present na po sa AltG Records and hopefully, ma-release na po agad 'pag na-present na po sa kanila,” he said, expressing his hope that the label will like the new songs he wrote.
On another note, Anton revealed that if he was ever given a chance to collaborate with any Kapuso singer, he would love to have Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose to perform with.
When asked why he chose Julie, Anton said, “Lagi ko pong sinasabi 'yun e, kasi po parang nagagandahan po talaga ako sa boses niya po talaga. So parang feel ko po magma-match po 'yung voice ko sa kaniya since medyo RnB din po ako and nung pinapanood ko po siya, medyo RnB din po siya.”
“Feel ko po, babagay din 'yung voice namin together. And super idol ko po si Miss Julie Anne San Jose,” he added.
