Wowie's showbiz comeback inspired by late wife

It has been thirteen years since actor-dancer Wowie de Guzman appeared in a Kapuso show. What drove him to make a showbiz comeback?
Wowie will be starring alongside LJ Reyes in GMA’s remake of Yagit. Seasoned actress, Gina Alajar will be directing the upcoming TV series. Direk Gina, LJ and Wowie are currently conducting auditions in different parts of the country, in search of a new breed of child stars to reprise the roles of the well-loved Yagit kids.
In an interview with Aubrey Carampel of 24 Oras, Wowie said that he made the decision to return to showbiz out of his love for his child and late wife, Sherryl Ann Reyes.
Sherryl passed away last April, a month after giving birth to their child. Wowie admitted that up to know, he still finds himself in tears when he looks back at the precious memories he spent with his wife.
“Kahit na two years lang kaming nagkasama, ‘yung buong buhay mo umikot sa kanya, tapos iyon pa, pangarap na pangarap niya na magka-baby na, so nakakalungkot lang na tumagal lang siya ng one month na nanay pero at least na-experience niya pa,” he said.
Despite what happened, Wowie has decided to look at the brighter side of life while in the process of moving forward.
“I’m sure naman nandiyan siya palagi. Kasama ko siya sa pagpapalaki sa anak ko,” he said.
