Dingdong Dantes: “Hinding-hindi namin malilimutan itong Festival na 'to.”
Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes stated that the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival will be etched in his memory with the overwhelming success of his two film projects, Firefly and Rewind.
In his exclusive chat with 24 Oras, Dingdong Dantes was grateful to everyone for their support for Firefly which won Best Picture in the MMFF and the box-office success of Rewind, a film which he described was a “personal one.”
Dingdong said, “Saludo rin ako dahil siyempre 'yung pelikulang Firefly kung saan nandoon din ako nanalo Best Picture.
“I'd like also to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported us sa Rewind.
The award-winning Kapuso actor continued, “'Yung pelikula rin namin ni Marian, ng aking asawa, napaka-personal kasi sa amin nitong project na 'to. Kaya hinding-hindi namin malilimutan itong Festival na 'to.”
It was also heartwarming experience for Dingdong to witness that Filipinos are now back to watching movies, after the grueling years of the COVID-19 pandemic that almost broke the local film industry.
He explained, “Alam mo, ang pinag-pray ko talaga bago kami sumali dito sa Film Fest na 'to ay: Sana, please e, manumbalik 'yung sigla ng pelikulang Pilipino, lalong-lalo na 'yung sabik ba ng mga manonood natin na bumalik sa mga sinehan. At nakakatuwang makita na halos pumapantay na siya sa pre pandemic times.”
