By Bianca Geli

NCT's Haechan's health and future scheduled activities are temporarily halted due to health issues, according to SM Entertainment.

Haechan will be absent from NCT 127's 3rd concert "NEO CITY: Japan - The Unity."

On January 9, SM Entertainment shared the following statement on NCT 127 and NCT DREAM's Weverse communities.

"Hello.

"We want to inform you regarding NCT's Haechan's health status and future scheduled activities."

"While in Japan for scheduled activities, Haechan returned to Korea first on January 8 and visited a hospital due to flu symptoms accompanied with a high fever. According to the examination results, he has a severe case of tonsillitis, and the doctor advised that he needs plenty of rest and stability. Thus, Haechan will be taking a break for the time being for his speedy recovery."

"Haechan will be unable to participate in the Circle Chart Music Awards 2023 scheduled for January 10 (Wednesday). Thus, NCT DREAM will participate in the Circle Chart Music Awards 2023 as six members with Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung. We ask for the generous understanding of fans."

"We will decide on Haechan's participation in future scheduled activities depending on the state of his recovery, and we will inform you again regarding [this decision]."

"We apologize for causing concern to fans, and we will do our best so that Haechan can greet fans again in good health."

"Thank you."

Meanwhile, NCT 127 is scheduled to visit the Philippines this January 21, 2024 at the Philippine Sports Stadium.

NCT 127 consists of leader Taeyong and members Taeil, Johnny, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark, and Haechan.
