Go back in time as Wickermoss sing their rendition of 'Babaguhin ang Mundo' on 'Spotlight Music Sessions.'

Alternative rock band Wickermoss dropped their rendition of the song 'Babaguhin ang Mundo' from the series Maria Clara at Ibarra on Spotlight Music Sessions on Friday, January 26.

'Babaguhin ang Mundo,' originally sung by Asia's Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose, talks about learning from the past and using what you learned to change your future.

In an interview with GMANetwork.com, bassist Roger Alcantara said that someone suggested that they play the song and when he heard it, he realized that they wrote a song before that has the same vibes as 'Babaguhin ang Mundo.'

“In-inject lang namin 'yung sarili naming flavor so mas ginawa naming medyo worldy, acoustic, para lang kumbaga may sarili kaming take on it,” he said.

Roger added that they liked the song, especially the band's lead vocals and acoustic guitar player Allen Lucas and their drummer, Karmi Santiago, who were fans of the show.

“So natuwa rin kami nung binigay sa'min 'yung project,” he said.

When asked what they think the song's meaning is, Allen said it's about not making the same mistakes from the past.

“Tinry niyang 'wag na maulit 'yung pagkakamali para mabago 'yung kapalaran. Pero then again, andun na nga, nakasulat na, parang you just have to live, malampasan mo lang 'yun, without siguro hurting anyone or mas matanggap mo siya gracefully,” she said.

Roger revealed that their band, which includes Rigil Borromeo on lead guitar, and Reiman Gesmundo on guitars, is currently trying to come together to record new songs.

“Meron naman nang nakapila, it's just a matter of clearing our schedule to get back to the studio and record a new song,” he said.

He also teased that they have an upcoming project where one of their songs will be heard “Mondays to Fridays.”
