Ultimately changing primetime television viewing, Carmela: Ang Pinakamagandang Babae sa Mundong Ibabaw stole viewers’ hearts during its entire run.
Undeniably a huge success, the series is nominated in the Teleserye of the Year category in the Yahoo Celebrity Awards 2014.
Carmela: Ang Pinakamagandang Babae sa Mundong Ibabaw revolves around the life of Carmela, a woman whose beauty is both her blessing and her curse. Starring in the title role as Carmela was no less than the Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera.
The series also marked the first team-up of Marian and Crush ng Bayan, Alden Richards.
Alden played Yago, a free-spirited college student. His perspective in life was completely changed when he met Carmela, who showed him a different view about life and love.
The series also had a stellar cast of the country’s most respected artists in film and television: Agot Isidro as Amanda, the beautiful and strong-willed mother of Carmela; Raymond Bagatsing as Dante, the brother of Fides who will fall in love with Carmela; Jennica Garcia as Alliyah, Carmela’s trusted friend; Rochelle Pangilinan as Yolly, Dante’s scheming girlfriend; with Roi Vinzon as Fernando and Ms. Laurice Guillen as Fides, the uptight and religious wife of Fernando.
Renowned TV director Dominic Zapata, who is the man behind the trending Primetime series of GMA Network, My Husband’s Lover, directed the compelling drama series.
