'Firefly' wins big at Manila International Film Festival 2024

Manila International Film Festival 2024 or MIFF was recently held in Los Angeles, California, in the US.

Actress Alessandra De Rossi was named Best Supporting Actress in the recently concluded festival. The actress snagged the award for her role in the Philippine fantasy film, Firefly.

GMA Network Senior Vice President for Programming Talent Management Worldwide and Support Group Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes and Ysabel Ortega attended the event and accepted Alessandra's trophy on her behalf.

Following this, Filipino director Direk Zig Dulay bagged the Best Director Award for the said film.


Aside from this, Firefly also won Best Screenplay for Anj Atienza at MIFF 2024.

In the said event, 'Firefly' itself also took home the Best Picture award.

Firefly won Best Picture, Best Screenplay for GMA Public Affairs Assistant Vice President Angeli Atienza, and Best Child Performer for Euwenn Mikaell at the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival.

Firefly stars Euwen Mikaell as Tonton, who journeys to find the mythical island of Firefly based on his mother, Elay's (Alessandra De Rossi), bedtime stories.

Also part of the movie were Ysabel, Miguel Tanfelix, Cherry Pie Picache, Epy Quizon, and Yayo Aguila. Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes and Max Collins also have very special participations.
