GMA shows, anchors, and celebrities win at Platinum Stallion National Media Awards

Several GMA shows, celebrities, and personalities bagged awards in the recently concluded 2024 Platinum Stallion National Media Awards of Trinity University Asia.

Platinum Stallion National Media Awards was established in 2015 to recognize individuals and institutions for their contributions to the industry. The awards are also given to individuals and institutions for the inspiration that they give to the Trinitarian community through their contributions.

The awardees were selected through a university-wide survey where students, faculty members, non-teaching personnel, security officers, parents, alumni, and even maintenance staff participated.

Awards were given for TV and News, Radio, and entertainment. For news, GMA Network was awarded the Station of the Year award, while GMA Regional TV was given the Regional TV Network of the Year award.

Meanwhile, 24 Oras was awarded the Best TV News Program award while Vicky Morales was awarded the Female News Anchor of the Year award. On the other hand, her co-anchor, Atom Araullo, was awarded the Male News Anchor of the Year award, but for State of the Nation.

Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho also won the Best News Magazine Program award, while Emil Sumangil won the Best Public Service Program Host award for Resibo: Walang Lusot ang May Atraso. Reporter's Notebook, on the other hand, won the Best Documentary TV Show award.

The Best Gameshow award was given to Family Feud, while Best Morning Show was awarded to Unang Hirit. Martin Javier also won the Best TV Sports Program Host award for GMA Sports. Meanwhile, Pepito Manaloto won the Best Comedy Program award while Pokwang was recognized as the Best Variety Show Host for TiktoClock.

For radio, DZBB Super Radyo won the AM Radio Station of the Year award.

For entertainment, the mystery-thriller series Royal Blood got the Best Primetime Drama Series award while Rhian Ramos was awarded the Best Primetime Drama Actress award for her performance in the hit series. Meanwhile, Ashley Ortega earned the Breakthrough Artist of the Year for her series Hearts on Ice.

The Metro Manila Film Fest entry Rewind won the Drama Film of the Year while its actress, Marian Rivera, won the Best Film Actress award. Another MMFF entry, Becky and Badette, top-billed by Pokwang and Eugene Domingo, won the Comedy Film of the Year award. Euwenn Mikaell also won the Childstar of the Year award while Zig Dulay won the Director of the Year award, both for the MMFF entry Firefly.
