John Rex revealed how he admires Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista as a singer.

In an interview with GMANetwork.com on Ferbruary 7, John mentioned that ever since he was a kid, he loved Christian's songs and even sang them often in the past.

"Ever since noong ako'y maliit pa, siya talaga yung pinapakinggan ko and meron kasing stage ang mga lalaki na mix voice. Nung nag-mix voice ako, yung mga songs ni Kuya Christian ang kinakanta ko," John shared.

As it would be a dream come true, the GMA Music star also said that he wanted to do a love song collaboration with his favorite Kapuso balladeer.

He happily said, "Kung bibigyan ako ng chance sana, sana maka-collaborate ko si Kuya Christian sa isang love song."

John Rex won the grand championship on The Clash 2023 with Christian Bautista as one of the show's judges.

Looking back, the artist felt grateful to Christian as he remembered how the balladeer looked out for him ever since he won the program.

"Simula noong nanalo ako ng The Clash, everytime na magkasama kami sa All Out Sundays, not only [he gave] advice sa showbiz kung hindi outside show business,[like] sobrang daming in-advice sa amin, " John said.

He also added his most memorable tip that the balladeer gave him was "I-enjoy ko yung show business pero I should have a back-up plan."

Carrying his inspiration and tips from his favorite artist, John Rex is currently getting ready for his first-ever release single under GMA Music, "Someday in Your Life."

The song will be released on digital music platforms on Friday, February 16 . Pre-orders are now available on iTunes until February 15.
