Ken Chan on doing 'Slay Zone': “Pangarap namin na magtrabaho naman behind the camera at maging producer.”
Glaiza De Castro and Ken Chan achieved another milestone in their showbiz career by becoming co-producers of the mystery-thriller film Slay Zone, directed by multi-awarded Louie Ignacio.
In a recent online interview by GMA Integrated News reporter Lhar Santiago, the Sparkle artists talked about their experience producing the movie, which is now showing in cinemas this Valentine's Day.
According to Ken, they have been dreaming of this opportunity to work behind the camera this time.
He shared, “Dream po kasi namin ni Glaiza 'to, Tito Lhar. Normally, kapag gumagawa kami ng pelikula bilang isang actor at kapag nag-uusap kami ni Glaiza, sabi namin gusto namin, pangarap namin na magtrabaho naman behind the camera at maging producer.
“Dito nate-test 'yung pagiging creative naming dalawa. 'Yung mga creative juices namin na mga naiisip, 'yung mga konsepto nagkaroon kami ng outlet para ipakita pa 'yung isang side ng pagiging artist, 'yung pagmamahal namin sa industriya.”

For her part, Glaiza praised Ken for his dedication in this movie and appreciates his support to the team behind Slay Zone.
The Running Man Philippines star recalled, “Si Ken hindi naman mahirap kausap, hindi naman mahirap katrabaho. Kahit na actor or producer at tsaka very hands on siya Tito Lhar, kahit 'yung mga simpleng eksena lang nandoon siya to support.
“Galing siya ng taping pupunta pa siyang Bulacan para lang i-check kung okay ba kami.”
Apart from being its producer, Glaiza also got to work with fellow award-wining actress Pokwang.
“Si Mamang naman hindi naman made-deny 'yung husay niya rin na naipakita na rin niya 'yung comedic side and 'yung dramatic side niya. So, ako very honored ako to work with her. Ang saya niya ka-bonding kahit na off set.”
Glaiza added, “Mas masaya siya ka-eksena, kasi it's something na hindi ko normally nakikita sa kaniya. So, masaya siyang experience for me. And 'yun talaga 'yung ike-keep ko sa career ko na nakatrabaho ko siya na nagkaroon pa kami ng magandang pelikula katulad ng Slay Zone”
