SBTown and (co-managed) Universal Records introduced their lovable and newest P-pop soloist, Darlene, with her very first solo single "DayDream."

During a media conference held last Friday (February 16), the 19-year-old artist happily announced her official return to the world of P-pop, showing a different side of her individuality never seen before during her career as a YGIG member.

"During YGIG po, that Darlene is very fierce and powerful. Nakilala po kasi ako as a very strong person sa group, and ang pinagkaiba po siguro ngayon, now that I'm a soloist, I want to show more my light aura and mas bright, and mas natural. Mailalabas ang sarili ko," she said.

Matching her fresh and vibrant image, Darlene's single, "DayDream", features colorful and bubbly vibes about the beauty of falling in love and daydreaming about someone.

The P-pop soloist also revealed how she contributed mostly in the creation of the song, "When it comes to making lyrics po, mga 95% po yung naiaambag ko with making my own music kasi po hindi po ako yung mismo nagpo-produce ng beat and sounds. "

As a talented artist, Darlene shared she quickly knew the music would be a cute love song after she heard the track's draft.

Despite not having enough experience with romance, Darlene continued to challenge herself as she knew her concept idea perfectly matched the music.

"Yung napakinggan ko po yung song, ang pumasok talaga ka'gad sa mind ko is, it's gonna be about love and sobra-sobrang nagustuhan ko po yung vibe niya. For me po, hindi ko pa po na-experience yung love [or dating], so medyo nahirapan po ako. So ang ginawa ko po is kumuha po ako ng ideas kung paano ko siya mabubuo and iyon po, hanggang sa nabuo ko na po ang 'DayDream'," she said.

The young artist started her singing career during The Voice Kids Season 1 and entered a talent training camp in SBTown.

From there, she debuted as one of the powerful vocalists of the girl group, YGIG, last November 2022. But due to health concerns, with a heavy heart, Darlene decided to leave the group in 2023 to focus on recovering.

After regaining her strength and health, Darlene returned to the music industry last February 9, with the first version of her music video of "DayDream."
