Alethea Ambrosio will represent the country in Miss Supranational

By Ron Lim

Current reigning The Miss Philippines Alethea Ambrosio has some big shoes to fill as The Miss Philippines organization has just named her as the country's representative to this year's Miss Supranational pageant.

In one of the more recent posts on The Miss Philippines Instagram account, Alethea was named the country's representative to the international pageant. Alethea was crowned The Miss Philippines back in October.

Alethea will seek to surpass the performance of the first The Miss Philippines and Miss Supranational 2023 first runner-up Pauline Amelinckx.

Should Alethea win the 2024 Miss Supranational pageant, she would be the second Filipina to bring home the crown after Mutya Datul first won it back in 2013.

Aside from Alethea, other beauty queens were appointed titles over the weekend by The Miss Philippines organization. Hanna Uyan was appointed Miss Eco Teen Philippines, Chantal Elise Schmidt was appointed Miss Eco International Philippines, Isabelle de los Santos was appointed Miss Aura Philippines, and Blessa Ericha was appointed Miss Asia Pacific International Philippines.

It was back in September last year that The Miss Philippines pageant announced its partnership with Miss Asia Pacific International. The Miss Asia Pacific International was first started in 1965 as a Miss Asia contest before becoming Miss Asia Pacific in 1984 and Miss Asia Pacific Quest in 1985 before becoming Miss Asia Pacific International. The pageant aims to promote Philippine tourism overseas, which mirrors The Miss Philippines pageant's own objectives.
