Michael V. vows to stay loyal to GMA-7: 'Wala na ako planong umalis pa'
Multi-awarded comedian and content creator Michael V. has promised to stay loyal with GMA Network, his home network for 28 years as he renewed his ties with the biggest broadcast network in the country.
The ace comedian told the members of the GMA-7 press during the contract signing held today, March 11, that he sees himself being a Kapuso until the last days of his entertainment career.
“Ako I've been doing this for the entertainment industry for more than 28 years, pero the bulk of my time nandidito sa GMA.” Direk Michael said.
“Wala na ako planong umalis pa dahil ito na talaga 'yung [tahanan ko]. Parang sinabi ni Sir. Gozon: home-grown, so yeah, this is definitely my home.
“And, it will be my home until siguro the last days of my entertaining life.”
Present during the contract signing ceremony this morning included GMA Network Chairman Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, President and CEO Gilberto R. Duavit Jr., Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong.
Also in attendance were Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable and Michael's wife and manager, Carolina Bunagan.
Atty Felipe Gozon described Michael as a “genius” and lauded the performance of his shows, which are consistent top raters.
He said, “Kami ay lubos na nagagalak at nagpapasalamat na magpapatuloy ang aming pagsasama ni Bitoy. Si Bitoy ay homegrown and behind him, and GMA is 28 years of relationship na napakaganda ng resulta. Sapagkat sa akin recollection ang mga program niya ay nangunguna sa ratings at walang nalulugi.
“Kaya tama 'yung sinabi sa audio visual presentation na si Bitoy ay talang isang genius. Hindi lang sa harap ng camera, kundi sa likod dahil siya ay maraming inaambag.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Duavit was simply in awe of Bitoy's ability to adapt and evolve throughout the years. The Kapuso top executive also considered the ace comedian as an inspiration saying, “Pagka nababanggit si Bitoy, isa lang ang tumatawid sa isip ko - the one and only. Pagdating sa larangan ng komedya ngayon, maging sa telebisyon o sa pelikula, nag-iisa na siya. And he continues to adapt, he continues to evolve kaya lahat ng mga manonood tinatawid niya.”
“You are an inspiration to us all Bitoy and well, continue to do what you are doing and we will continue laughing with you.”
For Mr. Yalong, he credits Michael's incredible work and all his efforts in making Kapuso Network as the comedy powerhouse in the local entertainment scene.
“We are so excited na pumirma uli sa atin si Bitoy. One of the most loyal talent ng GMA… Again, Bitoy thank you for giving us your time and effort to make Kapuso Network [as the leading comedy content provider]. I think no other station can beat GMA as far as comedy is concerned.”
