Johnny Manahan

Johnny Manahan, better known as Mr. M, was recognized by the many stars he shaped at a recent tribute.

Johnny Manahan, more popularly known as Mr. M in the Philippine entertainment industry, has shaped many careers and built up many names during his decades in the entertainment industry. Those names came back to fete him at a recently held surprise tribute.

In one of the more recent posts on Tim Yap's Instagram account, the showbiz personality shared a video of Lovers and Liars star Claudine Barretto talking about her experience with Mister M.

In the video, Claudine said that Mr. M did “everything” to make the dreams of his talents come true and that he has touched the hearts of everyone in attendance. Tim explained in the caption to the post that the event started as a birthday event for public relations professional Keren Pascual before quickly turning into a tribute to the “star maker.”

Claudine was just one of the celebrity names present at the tribute. Aside from Julia Barretto who is seen in the video, also in attendance were Charo Santos-Concio, Sharon Cuneta, Roderick Paulate, Ruffa Gutierrez, Eric Quizon, Gio and Guila Alvarez, Rica Peralejo, and Korina Sanchez.

Global fashion and style icon Heart Evangelista, Jericho Rosales, Piolo Pascual, Bea Alonzo, Joshua Garcia, Jake Cuenca, Carlo Aquino, and Donny Pangilinan were also in attendance.

Mr. M now works as a consultant for the Sparkle GMA Artist Center and in October last year was the cover star of the Esquire Philippines October issue alongside Sparkle stars Rayver Cruz, Julie Anne San Jose, Ruru Madrid, Bianca Umali, Miguel Tafelix, and Ysabel Ortega.

In the cover story, Mr. M stressed the importance of “discipline, hard work, and motivation,” as well as the openness to accept even small roles when pursuing a career in the Philippine entertainment industry.
