Define Destiny

By MICHELLE CALIGAN

In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, the cast of the primetime drama My Destiny, led by Carla Abellana, Tom Rodriguez, Rhian Ramos, Sid Lucero, and Ms. Lorna Tolentino, shared their thoughts about love, family, and destiny.

What do these acclaimed actors and actresses have to say about destiny? Do they actually believe in it?

Carla Abellana: "Yes, I believe in destiny. Mas malakas 'yung belief ko ngayon compared to before. Destiny has something to do with unexplained events, circumstances in your life. It doesn't necessarily have to do something with love. It can just be a specific event in your life na hindi mo ma-explain. Everything seems to be falling in place, everything seems to be working well na kahit hindi papunta doon 'yung path, bumabalik at bumabalik doon."

Tom Rodriguez: "I've had a first hand experience with it. You never quite know where you'll go in life. Sometimes life will surprise you, but it's inevitable that someone is pulling strings. My life would have taken a different turn."

Rhian Ramos: "I do believe in destiny pero naniniwala pa rin ako sa freedom of choice. Feeling ko kasi, may dalawang destiny na puwedeng mangyari sa'yo depending on the choices that you make from day to day. May path na gusto para sa'yo si God, tapos if you make the wrong decisions, hindi mo makukuha ang hinanda niyang blessings para sa'yo, pero mayroon, may nakahanda na. You just have to be very careful in choosing to what your destiny might be."

Sid Lucero: "I believe that there is a pre-determined road that one must take when it comes to his values and morals based on what we've learned from the "Big Book'' or our personal lives. But I also believe that although there's a line that is meant for us to take, we have a choice on whether to take that or not. 'Yun nga lang, be prepared for the consequences because no matter what you take, there is always a repercussion to it."

(Laughs)

Kuh Ledesma: "I do believe in destiny, most especially since I read the Bible. I now realized that God has a plan for everyone, and no matter where you want to go, God will take you to that place where He wants to see you. You will still have to choose kasi may free will tayo, pero ang Diyos naman ang humihipo ng puso natin."

Siguro 'yun 'yung destiny."

Dennis Roldan: "Very much. Sabi kasi sa Bible, we were predestined.

Ayen Munji-Laurel: "I guess in God's hands, mayroon talagang nakalaan para sa atin. No one can dictate but only God can give you your lifetime partner."

Ruru Madrid: "Yes, of course.
