Claudine Barretto shows scars of a battered wife

Through a recent photo shoot, she showed the scars, wounds and cigarette burns on her thighs.
“Hindi [ito] nakita ng ibang pamilya ko. Na-accept ko na na battered wife ako, and so para makatulong sa iba, lumabas na rin ako,” she said in an interview on 24 Oras.
According to Claudine's wound specialist, the hyper-pigmentation around the scars shows that the actress has been bearing the marks for a long period of time.
Claudine did not identify who inflicted the physical injuries on her, but mentioned that it was part of the complaint pertaining to the Violence against Women and their Children Act.
Lawyer Ruth Castelo, counsel of Claudine’s estranged husband Raymart Santiago, said Raymart’s camp will address the issue once Claudine “categorically says it’s Raymart.”
Claudine is also ready to resume the court battle as she files another complaint against Raymart for neglecting his obligations for their children.
She said their children felt bad because their father went skydiving instead of attending Sabina’s birthday party. The actor also allegedly did not express any concern when Sabina was bitten by her classmate.
Castelo said Raymart was not invited to Sabina’s party. She clarified, “’Yung skydiving ni Raymart naka-schedule ‘yun months ago. Ang birthday naman ni Sabina June 21 and he was with her.”
Less than a month ago, the estranged couple were seen celebrating with their children.
At that time, Claudine said they were willing to work together as good parents to their children.
