“Babalik ako (I will come back). I promise.” These heartfelt words from Baekhyun marked the close of the K-pop Overpass Music Concert in Manila last year.

True to his word, he returned to Manila with his solo concert 'Lonsdaleite'. The sold-out concert was held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on April 13 and it was an unforgettable experience for everyone present.

Baekhyun, a member of the popular K-pop group EXO, is also known as the 'Genius Idol'. His exceptional vocal talent, dynamic stage presence, and deep connection with fans have cemented his status as an icon in the world of K-pop. Beyond his prowess as a performer, Baekhyun has ventured into entrepreneurship, recently establishing his own company, 1NB100, where he proudly serves as owner and CEO. Notably, his 'Lonsdaleite' Asia tour was organized under his label.

Baekhyun captivated the audience from the onset, opening the concert with EXO famous songs “Diamond” and “Playboy”. Throughout the two-hour event, he showcased a repertoire of his classic hits like “Stay Up”, “Ice Queen”, “UN Village”, “Love Scene”, “Bungee”, “Love Again”, “Cry for Love”, “Ghost”, “Underwater”, “Bambi”, “Poppin”, “R U Ridin?”, “Betcha”, “Candy”, “Paranoia”, “Privacy”, “Garden in the Air”, and “Amusement Park.”

The atmosphere reached a fever pitch as all Phixos (Philippine EXO-Ls) erupted in screams and squeals of delight, enthralled by Baekhyun's mesmerizing performance and adorable antics.

He even delighted the audience by incorporating Tagalog phrases like “Pogi” (Handsome), “Mahal Kita” (I love you), “Na-miss ko kayo” (I missed you all), and “Pilipinas kay Ganda” (The Philippines is beautiful) into his interactions. Engaging with the crowd, he enthusiastically chanted “Walang uuwi” (No one's going home) alongside the fans, expressing his desire to prolong the memorable evening. However, he shared that he had to return to Korea that same night to prepare for the EXO fan meeting event with his fellow members.

As the concert drew to a close, Baekhyun expressed his gratitude and made yet another promise to his Filipino fans: to return once more, with a wish for a two-day performance next time. “It's actually been almost one year since I last met you guys and I'm super happy. Thank you for not forgetting me. Salamat po (Thank you). Promise, I will return. Promise. You know, when I go back to the Philippines next time, I really want to do it for two days. It's really sad. I really want to have more fun with you guys,” he said.

And so, we eagerly anticipate your return, Baekhyun, knowing full well that you always deliver on your promises.
