Bernadette Reyes lends a helping hand to TV5 reporter Shyla Francisco

By Jansen Ramos

GMA Integrated News reporter Bernadette Reyes shows that creating relationships with her fellow news correspondents, whether they're from the same station or not, is important as they work together in the same industry.

This is after the GMA reporter easily extended assistance to TV5 reporter Shyla Francisco due to a manpower shortage while working in the field.

In an Instagram video dated April 22, 2024, Bernadette volunteered to take the role of Shyla's assistant cameraman, who was absent at that time when the latter was shooting her spiels, as she held the reflector to direct the light to Shyla.

Despite being in rival stations, Bernadette said she and Shyla are friends in real life.

"yung magkaibang tv station pero magkaibgan in real life," the Kapuso news personality said.

In the comments, many commended Bernadette for displaying camaraderie amid the situation.

"Basta't magkasama sa iisang industriya, nagtutulungan yan.," one said.

Another one commented, "Sana lahat ganito yung “support” sa trabaho o san mang aspeto. Ang galing, ang ganda. Ang sarap sa mata. #SpreadLove."

Bernadette has been a reporter of GMA Integrated News for over 15 years now. She also occasionally appears as an anchor in various news programs of the network.
