According to news reports, South Korean girl group TWICE is renewing their contract with their record label, JYP Entertainment.
Online platform, Naver, quoted a report by Lee Ki-hoon of Hana Securities last Monday, May 13, where it mentioned the previous and projected profit of JYP Entertainment this 2024.
While researcher Lee noted that the company was involved in several issues, they are confident that JYP Entertainment will bounce back and project positive performance due to the reported contract renewal of their nine-member girl group, TWICE.
Hana Securities also said that Stray Kids members are renewing their contracts this year, “With Stray Kids and Twice about to renew their contracts, the addition of box office hits by Japanese and Korean men will have a significant positive effect on performance and valuation.”
ONCEs (TWICE fandom) immediately flocked to social media to celebrate the news that TWICE will have many more years in the K-pop industry, especially since the group is nearing its 10th anniversary in October 2025.
Moreover, TWICE's lead rapper, Dahyun, will star in the Korean adaptation of Taiwanese movie You Are the Apple of My Eye.
Naver said on Monday, “TWICE's Dahyun will play the role of a model student that everyone has a crush on. She is the equivalent of Shen Zhai in the original work.”
You Are the Apple of My Eye marks Dahyun's second acting stint, the first being the sport-themed independent film Sprint, which was reported last May 2.
Meanwhile, Soompi said that JYP Entertainment has confirmed that there was an offer for Dahyun to take part in the Korean adaptation of You Are the Apple of My Eye, and is “currently reviewing it.”
In the meantime, fans are highly anticipating Nayeon's first-ever comeback as a soloist this June 14 with her second mini-album NA.
Filipino ONCEs are also gearing up for TWICE's upcoming Snacktacular Fanmeet on June 1 at the Mall of Asia Arena in partnership with Filipino snack brand Oishi.
