Max Nattapol

Max Nattapol talks about his experience working with Xian Lim in 'Kuman Thong.'

Thai actor Max Nattapol arrived in the Philippines earlier just in time for the red carpet premiere of his first Filipino movie, Kuman Thong, tonight, June 30.

Before this, the 30-year-old actor met a few local entertainment press at a pocket media conference prepared for him by Vival Films.

Here he talked about his experience with actor-director Xian Lim and his co-actors Cindy Miranda and Althea Ruedas.

According to Max, he had no idea about Xian's popularity before they started filming Kuman Thong in Ayutthaya, Thailand.

“I have no idea [about him]. Althea talked to me, 'You know him? He's very famous in the Philippines.' I haven't met him before but he knows some of our friends, too,” he told the press.

Max also mentioned that he knows that Xian is friends with Thai singer Lydia Sarunrat Deane, who made a music video with the Pinoy celebrity.

As his director in Kuman Thong, Max appreciated Xian for constantly guiding him while filming.

He said, “Actually, Xian is a very kind person. He knows what he's doing, you know. Every time that I talked to him, he would send a picture. He said, 'Max, it should be like this, like this,' and I loved that because I knew what my director wanted me to do. So yeah, it's made clear and the movie goes so well.”

Max also gave kind words to his co-actors, Cindy and Althea.

He said Cindy was very effective in portraying her character. “There was one scene when I felt so scared. It's not because of the script but because of Cindy. She's so good and she made me so scared. I can't believe that she can be something else like, 'Wow, this woman is so scary.”

He also added, “She's very good at acting. When she acts with me, she can pass the energy that can boost me like, 'Okay, okay.' Then, I would react to her back and there's like a chemistry between me and Cindy.”

Likewise, Max was impressed by Althea's acting skills.

“Wow, she's an amazing kid. I think she's the best kid actress that I've ever met in my life. When I talked to her, I told her, you should go to Oscar,” he shared.

This is the second time Max visited the Philippines. The first time happened in April 2018, when he and then on-screen partner Tul Pakorn attended the Altogether in Me Fan meeting in Manila.

Max recalled his experience, "That time, Filipino makes me so warm, you know. They welcomed us, me and Tul. I'm so impressed by this Philippine dessert called halo-halo. And [Filipinos] [made me feel] like, 'Okay, this is another home for you.”

Meanwhile, here are other Thai actors who have visited the Philippines.
