From caterpillar to butterfly: Thea spreads her wings at 18

It was a magical night for The Half Sisters star Thea Tolentino last August 16 at Villa Morales Resort in Calamba, Laguna as she celebrated her debut with family and friends.
Thea exuded beauty and confidence with her black crystal gown designed by Francis Libiran.
As Thea walked down the red carpet, all eyes were on the teen beauty.
Present in Thea’s debut were Simoun Ferrer, GMA Artist Center Assistant Vice President for Branding and Imaging, and GMA Artist Center Talent Management Manager Tracy Garcia.
Thea’s co-stars in Pyra Babaeng Apoy, Gladys Reyes, Tess Bomb, Elle Ramirez and Jeric Gonzalez didn’t miss this special event in Thea’s life.
Her The Half Sisters co-stars, Jomari Yllana and Derrick Monasterio, were part of her 18 roses.
Zandra Summer, Abel Estinaslao, Juancho Trivino, Mikoy Morales, close friends and colleagues were all happy to witness how Thea blossomed into a fine, young lady.
And Rita de Guzman prepared a song number for the debutante and wowed the audience with her powerful voice.

The night wouldn’t be complete without Thea’s Protégé mentor, Direk Gina Alajar.
“Isa ako sa pinakamasayang tao kung saan siya ngayon, nakita ko siya na isang ordinaryong bata lamang, halos wala siyang make-up, talagang simpleng simple lang. And of course, halos walang naniniwala sa kanya dahil nga nag-umpisa ang Protégé na mas maraming magagaling sa kanya. She keeps surprising me ngayon,” Direk Gina proudly says of Thea.
What's her wish for her protégé?
“I wish her more projects to come, more meaty roles to come. I hope she wins an award,” says Direk Gina.
Before the night ends, Thea’s “special friend” Mikoy Morales surprised her with a song that he thoughtfully wrote.
When asked how much Thea means to Mikoy, “Enough to keep me going,” was his sweet and simple answer.
How does Thea feel about this momentous event?
“Sobrang saya ko kasi minsan lang mangyari ito. Sobrang happy ko. Sobrang priceless nito,” was Thea’s heartfelt response.
Now that she's 18, Thea is ready to spread her wings like a beautiful butterfly and start a new journey in her life.
