Matthaios and SB19 Josh

Matthaios on working with Josh of SB19, 'Sunod kong gusto i-collab and napag-uusapan naman iyon...kay Josh talaga.'

OPM hitmaker Matthaios has created several iconic songs that have gained popularity on social media platforms like TikTok. His breakthrough hit was the heart-fluttering single "Catriona," inspired by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray. Following this success, Matthaios released other notable tracks, including "Binibini," a courting song featuring Sparkle stars Hailey Mendes and Jamir Zabarte in its music video.

In addition to his solo achievements, Matthaios has made a mark with memorable collaborations that have reached the international music scene. His recent release, "Tayo Sana," was a collaboration with digital creator and artist Yow, which became a buzz for its emotional and relatable feels. Matthaios also worked with other well-known artists SB19's Felip, Michael Pacquiao, and Soulthrll on the chill and heart-fluttering track "Pangga."

With these accomplishments, fans are excited to see what Matthaios will do next. In a recent interview with GMANetwork.com and other media outlets, Matthaios revealed that he has numerous songs ready for release, needing only minor adjustments.

"May mga singles na nakapila. Plan ko po is pag-release ng new song once (or) every two months. So 'yung buffer ng isang buwan siguro empty o parang mas ma-market 'yung song. Pero meron na ako at least pang next half, next year. May nakapila na and 'yung arrangement magbabago pa, kunwari may nagawa ako na mas gusto ko, ibu-bump ko muna 'yung nakapila nang saglit. Pero at least may bala na," he explained.

Matthaios also expressed enthusiasm for exploring other genres and collaborating with artists from various music styles. His recent collaboration with Yow on "Tayo Sana" marked a new venture into the acoustic genre. Matthaios also hinted his exploration will continue with another acoustic track set to release in December.

"May ilalabas naman ako sa December na guitars lang. Guitars lang very, very, acoustic talaga. Very string version talaga. Iyon 'yung gusto ko i-explore and tingnan natin sa mga kasunod, kung ano ang mga genre pa ang matitripan ko," he shared.

Regarding future collaborations, Matthaios has his sights set on working with several artists, especially within the P-pop industry. One artist he's keen to collaborate with is Josh from SB19. Although their plans were initially delayed due to scheduling conflicts, Matthaios is optimistic about the future.

"Sunod kong gusto i-collab and napag-uusapan naman iyon, hindi lang natutuloy kasi syempre busy parehas, kay Josh talaga, may pinag-uusapan kami ni Josh noon. Pero nag-stop nga kasi sobrang na-busy din talaga," he noted.

Matthaios also mentioned looking forward to working with other artists, including rapper icon Gloc-9, now that they are both part of Asintada Management and Production Inc.
