Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado was the first ever Ultimate Female Survivor in StarStruck. Now that the original artista reality search will be making a comeback on Philippine television, Jen expressed her excitement and offered advice to aspiring artists.

“I’m sure may mga bagong pakulo, may mga bagong ihahain ‘yung GMA, so excited rin akong makita ‘yung mga bago nilang contestants,” said Jen.

Ten years have passed since Jen was declared the winner, together with Mark Herras. Now, she has definitely come a long way but she will never forget the day she auditioned for the show.

What should aspiring actors and actresses keep in mind in order to become successful in the craft they want to pursue?

Kailangan talaga mahal nila ‘yung craft nila.”

Right now, Jen is busy shooting for the Metro Manila Film Festival entry, English Only, Please with her leading man, Derek Ramsay.
