Does Marc Abaya believe in the 'Dumlao Rules'?

Maraming words of wisdom na binibitawan ang character ni Marc Abaya na si Vincent Dumlao sa primetime series na Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real.

 

Maituturing na sexist at one-sided ang kanyang 'Dumlao Rules', pero totoo naman daw ang mga ito ayon kay Marc.

 

"Like when he says, 'Ang mga babae kung magpapatawad, magagalit sila sa mga kabit at hindi sa lalaki.' That is one of the worst things to say, but more often than not, it happens. Or at least in my experience, I know a lot of people who do it."

 

Dagdag pa niya, "Again, I may not like most of the things he says, but para sa akin, totoo eh. He just says it. That's why I think maraming nagagalit kay Vincent. But I commend the writers for creating such a wonderful character."

 

Kung mayroon man daw siyang isang rule na ibabahagi sa mga kalalakihan, ito lang iyon. "Kung naiisip mong magpakasal, pero hindi mo maiuuwi ang babae kay Mama, huwag na lang."

 

May similarities ba si Vincent sa totoong Marc Abaya when it comes to love?

 

"When Vincent is in love, he stays in love. 'Yung problema lang ay ang rules of engagement niya. Klarong-klaro that he is very much in love with his wife kahit she's in that situation. When I choose to fall in love, I am in love. But when I was younger, I was always in love. 'Yun 'yung problema. I don't know if that's a good thing."

 

Pagdating naman sa pagiging kaibigan, Marc admits he would do what Vincent did for Anthony.

 

"I would do the same because that's what friends are for, sadly. I would tell my friend Anthony na mali ang ginagawa niya but I would support him at the cost of hurting someone else. Again, that's what friends do."
