The Clash alumna Thea Astley has finally ticked off another goal from her bucket list.
Last September, it was a dream come true for Thea as she was part of the musical Once On This Island together with the 9 Works Theatrical group. She played the role of Ti Moune, the main protagonist, along with Filipina actress Angela Ken.
In an interview with GMANetwork.com, Thea revealed, "[It's my] first time to be in a professional theater production here in the Philippines. So, I'm very thankful that I was able to be part of that and that I was able to do it successfully," she said.
The Kapuso actress described the theater show as "the best experience of my life" which helped her broaden her skills as an artist and meet new friends.
"It's honestly the best experience of my life. Talagang doon na-test at na-stretch 'yung capabilities ko as a singer. I was able to do things with my talent and my skills na hindi ko alam na kaya ko pala," she expressed.
Thea happily added, " 'Yung family na nabuo, those friends that I found during the process of rehearsals and during the run itself, actually lahat sa kanila hanggang ngayon talagang naging kaibigan ko na talaga na tunay."
On Instagram, Thea also expressed gratitude to her newfound theater family. She also wrote in her message thanking her character Ti Moune. "Ti Moune, thank you for allowing me to bare your beautiful & courageous heart. As we part, I carry you with me, a reminder to be bold in my pursuits, to put my whole heart into everything I do, and to remain kind and forgiving amidst it all."
Aside from Thea, Once On This Island also featured Garrett Bolden, Angela Ken, Jordan Andrews, and the recent trending singer, Sam Concepcion.
