This was Direk Jun Urbano’s firm statement during his interview with Rocco Nacino on Unang Hirit for their upcoming indie film Ibong Adarna.

The director narrated that during one of Rocco’s fight scenes with an Ifugao warrior, he was surprised to see his actor wounded.

Nasugat,” he said.

But for the Kapuso actor, he was able to manage the accident.

“Bumaon sa likod ko [‘yung spear]. Pero okay lang, battle scar. One good thing about being a nurse,” he quipped.

For this adaptation, Rocco will give life to the character of the sole prince. Aside from this change, his father is also a sultan, rather than a king as in the original story.

“This is adapted to Filipino culture. 'Pag binasa mo, estudyante ka, you relate with what’s happening,” Direk Urbano explained.

He also commended Rocco for being professional.

Playing alongside Rocco is an all-star cast that includes Joel Torre, Angel Aquino, Benjie Paras, and Leo Martinez.

Ibong Adarna will hit the theaters starting October 1, 2014.
