When she joined StarStruck, Nadine Samonte wasn’t under any pressure to live more lavishly. She was a simple sixteen-year-old girl whose intention was to give her family a comfortable life.

This brought her far from any vices or luxuries, but instead urged her to keep saving up.

“Simula nung nag-StarStruck ako, inipon ko na lahat [ng kinita ko] kasi I really wanted to have a house. At 18, nagkaroon na ['yung family ko] ng house kasi [dati] palipat-lipat lang kami eh. Then nagkaroon na kami ng car,” she shared.

Because she chose to think long-term, she did not spend on expensive bags or shoes, but rather in properties that are worth investing on.

“Now, I have three condo units and two cars,” the StarStruck alumna said.

It wasn’t easy but from the beginning, she knew what she wanted and was determined to reach her goal.

“It’s the way you handle it eh. Ako kasi, gusto ko 'yung panghabang-buhay. Ayaw ko nung I have money pero I don’t know how to save it or spend it. Kasi it’s different if you just save and save and save pero in the future, nauubos din ang pera eh. You have to invest in something na mag-re-return,” she said.
