George Clooney’s wedding: What sign is this?

By CHERRY SUN

One by one they fall.

Singles all.

George Clooney, the world’s most eligible bachelor - twice even – tying the knot with Amal Alamuddin in a private wedding last Sept. 27 and in a civil ceremony last Sept. 29.

Before him was Brad Pitt, another of Hollywood’s most desired, to actress Angelina Jolie.

Observers of the glittery world that is show business call it Settling Down Syndrome.

And the “affliction” spreads in Philippine shores: Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes; Heart Evangelista and Sen. Chiz Escudero; and John Prats and Isabel Oli.

Power couples or no, all seem to have caught the love bug and are preparing for their upcoming weddings.

In Italy’s iconic Grand Canal, George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin road a water taxi to their wedding venue, the seven-star Aman Hotel, accompanied by a flotilla of craft.

The wedding photos of their discreet yet lavish wedding may be seen in the US magazine, People.

Back home, Marian and Dingdong will be wed on December 30 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Cubao.

Heart and Sen. Chiz will exchange “I Dos” in an intimate beach wedding in Balesin Island on February 15 next year.

Both power couples are in the midst of serious wedding preparations, well publicized via their Instagram posts.

John Prats and Isabel Oli – the latest to line up in the altar via a flash mob proposal – are still on cloud nine but they plan to tie the knot in a summer ceremony.

What afflicts the brightest of the stars that even Clooney, the trickster of Ocean’s Eleven, was rendered unimpervious?

Our own Heart Evangelista might know something.

It’s really the year of love. Everybody’s on that chapter in their lives,” she said sagely.

Her name IS both Heart and Love (Marie).
