'URCC 25: Takeover’ airs on GMA-7 this Sunday

The Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) mixed martial arts title fight airs this Sunday on GMA’s Sunday Night Box Office (SNBO), giving fans of the combat sport an all access pass to the highly anticipated event.

Serving as hosts are GMA Sports correspondent Mark Zambrano and Kapuso actor Rocco Nacino.

Founded in 2002 by the “Father of Philippine Martial Arts” Alvin Aguilar, URCC 25: Takeover is the first and longest running professional mixed martial arts tournament in the Philippines and South East Asia.

The face-off between MMA veteran Andrew Benibe and Onyok
Transmonte is one of the most awaited fights, putting at stake the vacant URCC Bantamweight title.

Transmonte is coming off a split decision win against Benibe from last year. “Yong mga nakaka-training niya, hindi kasing lakas o galing ng mga partner ko rito,” the former said.

For his part, Benibe is raring to finally claim victory over his opponent,

“I’ve been competing for about, nine, ten years. I’m ending my career with a belt!“

The special will also showcase fights between Caloy Baduria and Mark Palomar, as well as Chris Hoffmann and Nickson Kola for the Light Heavyweight Championship and the Lightweight Championship titles, respectively.

Catch all these and more in the URCC 25: Takeover Sports Special on Sunday, October 26, on GMA’s SNBO after Bet ng Bayan.
