Award-winning host Marc Anthony Nicolas and international pop singer and former American Idol finalist David Archuleta take on the Anxiety Dance Challenge behind the scenes of the latest episode of GMA Pinoy TV's Make Your Marc.
The challenge for Marc and David is to dance about anxiety, expressing their feelings about it through their dance moves. The challenge is based on the song Ánxiety' by Sleepy Hollow featuring Doechii.
There are two variations of the challenge: one is the dance trend, which Marc and David did, and the mirror illusion trend. However, both trends creatively depict anxiety and self-awareness.
In his interview on the Updated with Nelson Canlas podcast, David shared that the single, 'Rather Be Lonely,' talks about the fear of getting hurt by falling in love. The former Idol star admitted that he would rather be lonely than feel the anxiety of being in a relationship.
“I don't know what that is, and I need to have some more work to understand why I get triggered from intimacy. And being close to someone. And building a relationship with them. I don't, you know, the song says I don't know why I keep doing this, but like I feel like I need to end this, because intimacy is scary,” David explained.
Meanwhile, in the upcoming episode of Make Your Marc, the former Idol star opens up about his identity, faith, and his journey to finding both.
Catch David Archuleta on Make Your Marc, May 4, on GMA Pinoy TV.
