Since its formation in 2004, Slot Machine has swept away the rock music industry in Thailand, and continues to do so with its latest English single “Skyline,” executive produced by Grammy-winning hitmaker Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic.
In an exclusive video interview with GMA Network, the band, composed of Foet, Gak, and Vit, said “Skyline” is a song full of positive energy.”
Gak added. “It has a beautiful melody, beautiful chords, and lyrics that speak about love and about reaching for things beyond your dreams. It's that "high" feeling -- like "you got me so high." It's about feeling complete in life. We wanted to share that uplifting energy with our fans.”
This is just one of their many achievements in their decades-long career, but Slot Machine members said being in the industry for a long time is an achievement already.
“Honestly, it's hard to even imagine ourselves not being musicians. Music has been part of our lives for so long -- through work, through challenges, through everything. Music has been there for 20 years. So really, the entire journey itself is the reward. Just looking back, seeing ourselves after two decades of making music -- that alone feels like the answer to your question,” Vit told GMA Network.
But even after two decades, the Thai rock band is still set on taking over the industry with their music, and said they dream of working with Rick Rubin and Pharrell Williams.
Foet also told GMA Network they are open to working with BL (boys love) couple MileApo and GL (girls love) couple LingOrm.
“If it's a BL couple, it would definitely be Mile-Apo! We've worked together before, and we feel there's still so much potential for more projects together,” Foet added, “As for a GL couple, we'd love to work with Lingling-Orm. We've never collaborated yet, but we really admire their work and would love the opportunity.”
According to Slot Machine, one of the things that makes Thai rock special is its reflection of the country's culture.

Gak explained to GMA Network, “I think Thailand is a country where music is everywhere -- concerts, live music, it's part of everyday life. This constant exposure shapes our melodies, our culture, and even our way of living. It reflects in the music itself. Thai musicians naturally bring out joy and happiness in their music, and people can feel that genuine energy. That's something special about Thai rock.”
Slot Machine's newest single, “Skyline,” is available on various streaming platforms.
