Green Bones

Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid's award-winning film 'Green Bones' will be on Netflix this June.

GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs' inspirational-drama film Green Bones is set for a global comeback as it premieres on Netflix this year.

Giving netizens a chance to relive its emotional storytelling, breathtaking cinematography, and powerful life lessons, the award-winning film will stream worldwide starting June 19, 2025.

Green Bones follows the story of Domingo Zamora (Dennis Trillo), a notorious prisoner serving time for the murder of his niece. As his parole date nears, a new prison guard, Xavier Gonzaga (Ruru Madrid), becomes determined to keep him behind bars--at any cost.

Co-produced by Brightburn Entertainment, the film is directed by Zig Dulay with a screenplay by Ricky Lee and Angeli “Anj” Atienza, based on a concept by JC Rubio.

The film features a star-studded cast including Alessandra de Rossi, Wendell Ramos, Michael de Mesa, Ronnie Lazaro, Mikoy Morales, Royce Cabrera, Gerhard Acao, Raul Morit, Sienna Stevens, Sofia Pablo, Victor Neri, Kylie Padilla, Ruby Ruiz, Pauline Mendoza, and Enzo Osorio. It also includes special participation of Iza Calzado and Nonie Buencamino.

Green Bones was a standout entry at the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival, winning six major awards: Best Actor (Dennis Trillo), Best Supporting Actor (Ruru Madrid), Best Child Performer (Sienna Stevens), Best Screenplay (Ricky Lee and Angeli Atienza), Best Cinematography (Neil Daza), and Best Picture.

The film also gained international recognition after being screened at the Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) in Los Angeles, USA.

During its theatrical run, Green Bones earned massive audience support with sold-out screenings and viral online buzz praising its compelling narrative and artistic impact.
