Bago pa man niya pinasok ang mundo ng showbiz, active na sa theater ang Kapuso singer-actor na si Christian Bautista. Naging bahagi siya ng cast ng "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" at "Joseph the Dreamer" noong 2002.

In 2008, he landed the role of Tony in STAGES' production of "The West Side Story." Nasundan ito ng leading man roles sa "Rama Hari" ng Ballet Philippines, Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Cinderella" at ang pinakahuli, ang "Ghost The Musical" produced by Atlantis Productions.

With the number of musical plays that he has been a part of and the kinds of characters he has portrayed, may isang role pa na gustong mabigyang buhay ang Asia's Romantic Balladeer.

"Gusto ko 'yung Moulin Rouge. It's a movie musical, and wala pang gumagawa noon on stage. I always say it in my interviews. I like to be part of that because I love the music, I love the movie, sana gawin on stage," pahayag niya during his live chat.

May isa pang dahilan kung bakit gusto niya itong pagbidahan.

"Ang pangalan ni Ewan McGregor doon ay Christian, that's me (laughs). Hindi ko pa alam kung sino si Satine, pero it would be amazing kung magawa natin 'yun."

For now, the closest he can get to "Moulin Rouge" is having its theme song "Come What May" be included in his number one album, Soundtrack
