While Part 2 of the timeless drama 'Scarlet Heart' isn't confirmed to be in the works, there is still clamor for a continuation of the 2016 Korean series as the characters have all become memorable to K-drama fans.
The drama tells the story of Go Ha-jin (IU) who travels back in time to the Goryeo Era in Korea as a woman named Hae-soo. She meets a prince named Wang-so and the two fall in love. Eventually, she finds herself caught in the Goryeo Era's palace politics and rivalries.

Singer Lee Ji-eun or IU (Go Ha-jin /Hae Soo) made waves with the release of her fifth Korean-language studio album, 'Lilac,' released in March 2021.
Actor and singer Lee Joon-gi (Prince Wang-so) was nominated as Best Actor in the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards for his role in the drama 'Flower of Evil.' Just like IU, he expressed his hope for a sequel.
Despite serving his mandatory military service, Baekhyun manages to release records he has worked on prior to his enlistment. He released a solo album titled 'Bambi' in March 2021 and will be part of EXO's special album 'Don't Fight the Feeling' to be released in June 2021.
Girls' Generation member Seohyun (Woo-hee) has been cast in a romance film based on the webtoon 'Moral Sense.'
Nam Joo-hyuk (Prince Baek-ah) successfully starred in a lead role for 'Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo' (2017). He also starred in the successful drama 'Start Up' (2020) along with Korean actress and singer Bae Suzy and actor Kim Seon-ho.
Ji Soo (Wang Jung) starred in 'River Where the Moon Rises' and is set to enlist for his mandatory military service in October 2021.
In 2017, Hong Jong-hyun co-starred in the historical melo-romance drama 'The King in Love. 'In 2018, he was cast in the romantic comedy-drama 'My Absolute Boyfriend.' He was part of the time-loop drama film 'Spring, Again'(2019). He enlisted for his mandatory military service in 2019 and is scheduled for discharge in June 2021.
Z. Hera starred in 'Fight For My Way', 'School 2017', and 'Hello, My Twenties 2,' which all aired in 2017. She also appeared in the popular drama 'Love Alarm' (2019).
