'Bubble Gang' scores major wins in 2014

The awards just keep on pouring.
For 19 years the Bubble Gang barkada continues to entertain us with their crazy antics and top-notch comedy that we came to love.
Led by a powerhouse cast of comedy stars, young and old, it is not surprising that the show has a considerable following and has become a Filipino pop icon.
This year, Bubble Gang scored big wins in different award-giving bodies.
Several educational institutions recognized Bubble Gang as a trailblazer in Philippine television history. In February, the University of Santo Tomas awarded the show as the Students’ Choice of Comedy Program in the USTv Student Choice Awards.
Bubble Gang also bagged major honors in the PUP Mabini Awards (Best Television Comedy Program), Holy Angel University Paragala: 1st Central Luzon Media Awards (Best Gag Show) and NW Samar State University Students’ Choice Awards (Best Comedy Program).
Moreover, mainstays of the show like Sef Cadayona and Rufa Mae Quinto took top comedy acting awards this year.
Sef won for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Gag or Comedy Show in the 5th Golden Screen Awards for TV in which Bubble Gang received the recognition for Outstanding Gag Program.
He followed it up last month when he took home Best Comedy Actor in the 28th PMPC Star Awards for TV while Rufa Mae Quinto got the trophy for Best Comedy Actress.
The longest running gag show was also indicted to the Hall of Fame by the Philippine Movie Press Club.
