‘Bagets’ star Cheska Iñigo thinks that stars now have it easy

Former child star Cheska Iñigo revealed to Walang Tulugan how she thinks that the actors of this generation are very lucky to be pampered and taken care of.

“Ang suwerte, suwerte, suwerte nila. Palagi ko 'yan sinasabi 'pag gumagawa ako ng soap or movie, always ko sinasabi sa mga bata, alam niyo ang suwerte suwerte niyo…” she shared.

Cheska, who began her showbiz career at twelve years old, shared how they had to be more independent then.

“… Nung panahon namin, fend for yourself. Fend for yourself talaga,” she added.

They didn’t get to enjoy the perks and luxuries that teenage stars now get to experience. “Wala kaming acting coach on the set… Dapat alam mo 'yung material mo. Darating ka sa set, alam mo 'yung linya mo, alam mo 'yung expectation sa 'yo kasi pagdating mo dun, kung 'di mo alam, uso pa nun 'yung napapagalitan ka talaga eh. Nasisigawan, among other things. Ngayon, wala nang ganun,” she said.

Young stars now have people at their beck and call, get to take breaks in comfortable environments and even request for food that they like.

“Dati wala kaming standby area, walang tent, walang aircon. Hanap ka ng puno, puwesto ka. Ang laki laki ng difference talaga,” she declared.

That said, Cheska tries to establish a relationship with her younger co-stars now and help them see how lucky they are to be in the position they’re in.

“[Pinagsasabihan ko sila kung kailangan]. Ginagawa ko talaga. So ‘pag may nakikita ako [na puwedeng itama, I tell them], kasi I like to build that relationship with them. Kailangan talaga eh,” she concluded.
