Why did MJ Lastimosa take a break from social media?

Netizens may have noticed that Philippine bet to the 63rd Miss Universe pageant Mary Jean Lastimosa was absent from the online world for a while.
In an exclusive interview with Unang Hirit, she revealed why.
“Nag-decide ako na magpahinga sa social media kasi I really wanted to be present in the competition. I really wanted to spend time with (my fellow candidates),” she said.
She admitted that she knows that updating her online accounts could be a distraction to her and prevent her from enjoying the entire experience.
“Kilala ko sarili ko. ‘Pag may Instagram, buong araw ako mag-i-Instagram so sabi ko pahinga muna ko and I really spent time with the girls,” she added.
Now that she’s back from the U.S., she’s excited for another chapter of her life. She said that she wants to share what she learned to other Filipinas who have dreams of representing the country in international pageants.
“I’m so happy to be back… Sobrang excited na ‘ko i-give back (ang pagmamahal at suporta) at makapagpasalamat din sa lahat… [I want] to be able to share [what I’ve learned] to all the Filipino women who’s aspiring to represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant,” she shared.
