Alonzo Muhlach, the next Boy Wonder of Philippine Cinema?

By MARY LOUISE LIGUNAS

The past few months have been busy and fun for Alonzo Muhlach as he has taken part in different movies, and even briefly became a co-host in The Ryzza Mae Show.

His dad Niño, who was named the Boy Wonder of Philippine Cinema, is glad to be watching on the sidelines and guiding his son as much as he can.

“[I tell him] he has to be nice to his fans. Sabi ko kailangan niyang maging humble [at] huwag lalaki ulo,” Niño shared with Walang Tulugan.

He also imparted how people are especially fond of his son. “Actually, siya na lang 'yung pinapansin ng tao ngayon. ‘Pag nasa mall kami, siya lang 'yung pinapansin talaga. Ako, alalay na lang ako,” he said, laughing.

Asked by John Nite about his thoughts on Alonzo following his footsteps, Niño admits to entertain the idea.

“Well, sana. Sabi nga nila, sino bang dapat pumalit sa Wonder Boy kundi 'yung heir nung Wonder Boy 'di ba? Sana,” he declared.

He clarifies, however, that even if Alonzo walks along his footsteps, he still wants him to establish his own name.

“Ayaw ko rin naman lagi siyang na-co-compare sa ‘kin… Gusto ko magkaroon siya ng sariling identity,” he concluded.
