Living with the Boys Nxt Door

So far you’ve met the boys and girls living next door. Now it’s time to get to know the rest of the tenants of the newest teen show on GMA. Text by Alula Love M. Dela Cruz. Photos by Jason S. Lim and Mitch S. Mauricio. Sunday afternoons will never be the same as your favorite StarStruck stars settle comfortably into their new show Boys Nxt Door. Let’s get to know the rest of the cast who will be sharing one roof with the boys—Justine Plummer, Eunice Lagusad and veteran comedian Benjie Paras. Jiro the Mysterious Meet Justine Plummer, commercially known as the “Kuya May Germs Boy.” From doing commercials, Justine is now venturing into the world of show business. With his good looks and boyish charm, he might just be the next heartthrob of his generation. On the show he plays Jiro, the second to the youngest sibling of Buboy (Marky Cielo), Migs (Aljur Abrenica), Atom (Mart Escudero) and Nikki (Eunice Lagusad). “Anak po ako sa isang Chinese na mayamang heridera.” The premise of the show is that the siblings have one father but different mothers. “Sa tingin ko yung tatay ko na si Jose babaero” Justine jokingly remarked during our interview. Jiro is the quiet, mysterious and geeky little brother, “Na chichismis pa nga po na bading.” Justine refuses to tell us if his character will really go that way. We just have to wait and religiously watch the show to see what happens. Nikki the little Mommy We last saw Eunice Lagusad on TV as the ill-fated Charming on Princess Charming. She currently stars opposite Angel Locsin in the movie Angels. Now she’s back as Nikki the youngest and the only girl among the band of brothers. Being the only rose in the family, Nikki takes after her mother (played by Rio Locsin), “Nanay nanayan ako dito at medjo kikay”. Aside from keeping her kuya’s together Nikki is also into adopting animal’s specifically stray cats, “Marami po akong pets, (puro) cats.” Badong the wise Uncle Benjie Paras is not just a comedian; he’s also a great actor. After being part of the Lagot ka, Isusumbong kita cast and his short stint in Fantastic Man, Boys Nxt Door is his comeback show on GMA. During the presscon of the show he was asked about his sentiments on not being part of the reformatted show of Lagot ka, Isusumbong kita. “Ok lang, saka sabi naman sakin na may susunod ako na project at ito yun.” Benjie seems to be excited on playing this role, it’s quite different from his previous acting endeavors, “wholesome ako dito”. Uncle Badong is the brother of Buboy and Nikki’s mother. “Ako yung pinaka head na lalake dito.” Being the oldest makes him the wisest and that’s why the boys tend to seek his advice on subject matters like girls, love and family. But let’s not forget Benjie Paras is a comedian so expect a lot of comedic antics from him as the show progresses.
