Roadfill decided to compete in the said show to help fulfill the dream of 54-year-old Lola Fe, a vegetable vendor.

The Bubble Gang star saw Lola Fe’s video on the Internet and was impressed by her awesome talent. In the interview portion of the said episode, Lola Fe revealed she wanted to become a popular singer but she had to abandon her dream when she got pregnant at 16.

Despite her age, she still longs for her moment under the spotlight.

Lola Fe said, “After my children got older, I’d like to start to chase my dream again. I hope it’s not too late for me. Please give me a chance.”

Lola Fe's Bonnie Tyler-like voice

The two performed a classic Bonnie Tyler hit, "Total Eclipse of the Heart." Lola Fe’s raspy voice got a standing ovation from judges Van Ness Wu of ‘F4’, Anggun, and Mel C of the ‘Spice Girls.’

Roadfill provided comic relief in the performance.

Van Ness Wu was widely impressed by the odd duo. He said, “For me it worked, it worked in a very strange way, But it worked. Great job you guys.”

Roadfill out, Lola Fe in?

Despite making it to the next round, one of the judges was not impressed by Roadfill’s performance and questioned the YouTube sensation's decision not to sing.

In fact, Grammy winner David Foster did not want the Kapuso comedian to move on to the next level and only wanted Lola Fe to advance.

In his Instagram post, Roadfill answered the criticism thrown at him, saying “Kung plain na kumanta ako I don’t think makakapasok kami sa elimination round. Libo-libo kaming pumila sa MOA to audition at thankful na pinalad [na] mapili.”

“They are looking for something unique. It’s Asia’s Got Talent (yes TALENT) naman and not a pure singing contest,” Roadfill added.

The Bubble Gang star promised that next time he would try to showcase his singing prowess. “Abangan na lang natin… sige next time kakanta na din ako. Maraming salamat sa suporta.”
