What happens when two friends fall for the same girl? A love triangle. But what happens when StarStruck’s Kiko, Rich and Jesi play characters that fall for one another? Mauricio Every teen show thrives on love teams. Remember Wax and Peachy from T.G.I.S? They made us grab the remote and tune in to watch their blooming love affair every Saturday. Their cheesy lines and romantic scenes made us wish we had a cookie and cupcake in our lives. Now a new set of characters will revive this once forgotten feeling. The gang of is Boys Nxt Door will be bringing back the kilig factor to your life. The Players One of the newest couples to bring back this distant feeling is Jesi Corcuera and Kiko Junio. Jesi plays Milo, the smooth and cool tomboy kabarkada of the boys who becomes infatuated with played by Rich Asuncion’s character Winona. “Yun nga character ko dito pero parang mas-lalaki pa ako kay Kiko.” Jesi finds it easy to play this character because her role is based on her real life personality, “Hindi ko pinipilit, lumalabas na lang yung natural na acting ko, kasi kung ano ko,yun ang role ko dito.” Jesi is paired with fellow StarStruck Avenger Kiko Junio who plays Decdec, Milo’s bestfriend. Kiko describes his character as the dorky friend, “Medyo geeky na laging naka-checkered na polo at naka shorts.” Unlike Jesi, Kiko’s character is far from who he is in real life. Kiko is more of a fun-loving, maangas guy who always seemed to be misconstrued as a bad boy. The key to this love mystery is none other than the third factor, Winona. Rich explains “I play Winona, bombshell exactly the opposite of me.” Rich grew up in a conservative environment so playing a bombshell isn’t exactly an easy deal. “Challenging na nabigyan ako ng ganitong role sana mabigyan ko ng justice.” Who Loves Who? According to Kiko their love story starts off with Milo and Decdec as the best of buds, “We both know na friends lang kami, hindi sinasadya mag fafall kami sa isa’t-isa.” Jesi adds that it would still depend on Decdec’s diskarte if ever she will truly embrace the totality of feminism. “Kailangan ma-push ako ni Kiko na maging girl. Parang pag-napanood to ng mga tao sobrang mag-aabang sila.” Jesi also told us that Winona will play vital role in unlocking their true feelings for one another. “Si Winona, parang crush ko siya, tapos liligawan ni Decdec si Winona para makuha niya yung atensyon ko.” Rich admits being the third wheel is a hard concept to embrace, especially when their love triangle is anything but ordinary, “Nachachallenge ako kasi bihira na rin yung role na may homosexual at may guy at girl”. The question remains, will Milo fall for Decdec and change her old ways or will Winona be the girl that will ultimately ruin their friendship? Be sure to watch Boys Nxt Door every Sunday only on GMA.
