Megan Young returns to GMA; signs exclusive contract

After making every Filipino proud when she was crowned Miss World 2013, Megan Young returns to her showbiz roots as she inked a one-year exclusive contract with GMA Network on Tuesday, March 31.
Present at the contract signing were Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, President and COO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., SVP for Entertainment TV Lilybeth G. Rasonable, and Mr. Arnold Vegafria, Megan's manager.
The former StarStruck Season 2 Avenger is elated to be back in the Kapuso network. She admits to have missed the people she used to work with, from the celebrities to the show's staff.
"Masaya kasi siyempre dito ako nagsimula bilang isang StarStruck finalist. So ngayon, masaya ang pagbabalik kasi I've grown so much as a person, as an artist, and now nandito na ulit ako. Noong umalis ako, I had a lot of friends. Hindi lang sa mga artista pero pati mga production staff ng StarStruck, Startalk, pati ang staff ko sa QTV noong time na 'yun. Sila 'yung mga na-miss ko talaga nang umalis ako."
She also shared the good news that she will be co-hosting the latest season of the reality-based artista search with no less than Primetime King Dingdong Dantes.
"Dati noong si Ate Jolens ang co-host, talagang we really look up to her and to Kuya Dong kasi siyempre mga bata kami. At ngayon na isa na ako sa hosts, sobrang saya. Ang sarap sa pakiramdam."
Aside from hosting stints, Megan will also star in a teleserye very soon. She will also continue her humanitarian work with Miss World Organisation after they extended her contract for another year.
"Na-miss ko rin ang acting, kasi nang nag-Miss World ako, walang acting doon. ?Mga isang taon at kalahati na rin ako nag-stop. Ngayon, siyempre kailangan mag-prepare ulit. I know that there's a show coming up for me so I'm very excited."
Atty. Gozon is likewise very happy that Megan is back in GMA after eight years. "We are very glad and proud and honored na tayo ang pinili ni Miss World. Kaya maski saan siya nakarating, ang puso niya ay nasa Kapuso pa rin. At ang puso natin ay nasa kanya rin. We are lining up many things for Megan to do. Sayang naman ang pagka-Miss World niya."
