7 things you didn't know about Heart, the painter

By ANN CHARMAINE AQUINO

Heart Evangelista-Escudero is a charmer when it comes to her roles in film and television. On the other hand, behind the camera, Heart also exudes an innate talent when it comes to arts.

Heart made her debut as a painter in the international scene when she displayed her works at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. Heart was chosen to be the first Filipina to be featured in Chan Hampe Galleries. In the said event, many appeared curious to see what the Filipina has to offer. Here are the other things that you should know about this #WorldClassFilipina.

1.     Heart started painting at a young age and was very stubborn. She refused to listen to her teacher so he would just give her a few tips while she did her own thing. Their walls became her canvass.
2.     Heart is a perfectionist so she always pays attention to details which is evident in her paintings.
3.     She loves Skittles and gravitates towards those colors when she paints, even in a somber mood.
4.     It can take Heart less than 24 hours to start and finish a painting, especially when she is riled up.
5.     As an artist, Heart’s goal is to bring her feelings to life. However, the paintings aren’t catered only to her own stories. Her relationships are also major contributors in her painting mood. For instance, her relationship with her parents puts her in the zone to paint. Another indicator is when she created the “Queen” painting inspired by her friend, Lovi Poe.
6.     The paintings she brought she showcased at her recent exhibit in Singapore were sold out.
7.     She is more inspired and has better drive to paint when she is feeling sad, as painting helps her to get what she feels off her chest and on to a canvas.
