Drew Arellano, willing to give Iya Villania Filipino lessons for Chika Minute?

By BEA RODRIGUEZ

Kapuso host Drew Arellano is Iya Villania’s number one fan. He proved it by accompanying his wife to various Kapuso guestings to promote her as the new
24 Oras Chika Minute host.

Iya officially started her hosting stint in the news program last June 15, and Mr. A could not be any more proud of her.

He snapped a photo of the mestiza beauty on TV and posted it on Instagram, “Got a huge crush on the new Chika Minute girl.”

The Taste Buddies host shared on 24 Oras that she prepared for the new position by seeking advice from veteran hosts in the industry like Eat Bulaga's Joey de Leon who said, “Basta ang ibabalita mo, masaya [at] kailangan nakangiti ka na kaagad. ‘Pag medyo namatay o may sakit, handa mo na ang mukha mo (poker face).”

During the couple’s visit on Unang Hirit, Mrs. A also revealed her struggles in delivering showbiz news.

“Sabi ko nga eh, ‘yun 'yung struggle ko, ‘yun 'yung kailangan ko i-practice, Mel, Mike, Vicki,” she is used to addressing the 24 Oras anchors with “Tito, Tita, Ate.”

She added, “’Yun 'yung pina-pratice ko at 'yung ibang words like ‘infrastraktura.’ 'Yung mga ganun (laughs).”

“Sabi ko nga pagdating sa Tagalog, kailangan magtanong siya sa akin. ‘Di ba?” her husband boasted.

Nevertheless, Iya thanked her “special guest slash driver slash supporter” for coming with her to the morning program. “Actually, gusto ko lang talaga damayan niya ako sa paggising nang maaga at ginawa naman niya.”
