Iya Villania continues to pursue triathlon and she bagged another medal from Tri-United 2 last July 5, 2015 in Playa Laiya, San Juan, Batangas.
In her Instagram account, the Taste Buddies host wrote, “So this happened yesterday at #TriUnited2 Although the swim was cancelled due to the swell, the race went on as a long distance duathlon. I would've been happy to just finish alive but was happier to bag 3rd place in my age group Yay!Congratulations to my teammate @kishfillet who came in 1st! She's just a different species altogether and to my stunt double @nessantiago... Why again are we doing this? Ah! I remember... For this Hooraaaay for recovery week! Awesome race, @wucrew!!! Thank you Lord for sustaining us and keeping us safe”
In her first Olympic distance triathlon, Iya also won third place.
Iya’s husband, Drew Arellano, was also present in the race. She posted a dreamy eyed Drew in the background as she ran for the finish line.
Iya also posted her winning shot and said, “Para sa Pilipinas!!! #Intense #EasyLangTsong #TriUnited2”
