Polo: In the spotlight Polo just finished two major projects -- Silip, his first sexy big screen psycho-thriller opposite Francine Prieto and Diana Zubiri, and the recently-concluded Lupin, where he played Josh Apacer, a lovestruck man whose object of affection caused him to lose his sense of reason. But despite finishing two of his biggest projects to date, Polo has another surprise up his sleeve - boyz.com, an all-boy group that he co-conceptualized. The 25-year old actor-turned front man reveals that he has always loved going to concerts, and singing is a possibility he'd like to explore. Boyz.com performs alternative, pop, R&B, and love songs. Since Polo changed his teenybopper image a few years ago, much to the delight of his fans, he has been quite conscious about his exercise and diet regimen. "Puro work out pag walang work!" Polo reveals with a smile. Part of his routine is boxing and/or going to the gym five times a week. He goes to Fitness First and boxes at the Red Corner Boxing Gym. Polo has stopped cutting down on his food intake, because it usually makes him dizzy, especially with late-night tapings. "Noong napalabas ko na abs ko, tumigil na ako (sa diet), nahihilo kasi ako lalo na pag puyat - kailangan mo talagang kumain." Along with his image change is a shift in style as well, describing it as "European ang dating." He loves Folded & Hung's clothes which he can easily glam up for parties. He also gives us an interesting tidbit about his shopping habits: "Pag bumibili ako kasi ng leather boots, gusto ko 'yung maganda, like Cole Haan. Pero mga six years bago ako magpalit ng leather shoes!" Now that's being fashionably wise! Officially in his mid-twenties, Polo says that he's all set to move out, live independently, and go all-out in his career! Alex-isms Everyone loves Alex's unexpected frankness in a showbiz world built on pretensions. While some may be annoyed, most are amused and smitten by this 23-year old. Many are privy to this fact, because she has captured the hearts of some of the industry's hottest bachelors, Polo Ravales included! Although her showbiz relationships did not last, Alex is still out there, waiting once again to be swept off her feet. She believes in love at first sight, after all! What's the best thing that a guy has done for her? Without missing a beat, Alex replies, "Iniwanan niya ako! Para makaalis (ako) sa impiyerno!" She adds with a laugh, "Ano lasa ng ampalaya? Hindi ko na nalalasahan! Hindi na nga ako naga-asukal sa kape, e!" Despite her outspoken ways, is surprisingly old-fashioned in matters of the heart. Why, she can't even tell a guy straight-out that she digs him! "Hindi ko yata kayang gawin 'yun. Siguro pa-joke. Kunwari, ito, very Alex ito, ha: 'Ano tingin mo sa akin? Type mo ako, noh? Don't worry, type rin kita!' Tapos tatawa ako, 'hahahahaha!' Pag siniryoso niya, e di okay, pag hindi, e di joke!" When she does find her match, Alex says that she is "the perfect girlfriend." Why is that? "Mabait ako, maalaga, kahit sa vitamins mo, ako bibili. 'Yung ganoon? At hindi ako madaling magalit. Actually, hindi talaga ako nagagalit. Pero once na nagalit naman ako, ay, good luck to you! Bye-bye! Talagang you're dead!" So what should guys avoid like the plague so as not to unleash Alex's wrath? "Pambababae. Doon lang ako nagagalit," she imparts, without batting an eyelash. Like Polo, Alex just finished her stint in GMA primetime. She was the evil Nickelina in Super Twins, another character to add up to her long list of antagonistic portrayals. Although Alex has done quite a number of dramas on film and has even won awards for them, it is in kontrabida roles that she made a name for herself on the small screen. She keeps busy nowadays with various guestings in Kapuso shows, including QTV. She also indulges in her love for music: "Ever since naman, mahilig na talaga ako sa music. E nag-try (nga) ako mag-guitar (pero) hindi kaya. Nag-try ako mag-drums, hindi (rin) kaya! Baka piano (pa). Although pinakamahirap daw 'yun, pero malay mo?"
