Rocco Nacino smartened up after 'StarStruck'

It may have been six years since Rocco Nacino was a contestant in StarStruck, but he has very vivid memories from the experience.

“All the challenges are definitely unforgettable. [I couldn’t forget] performing in front of everyone in Araneta. ‘Di basta basta magkaroon ng pagkakaton para mag-perform sa harap ng libo-libong tao. So 'yun 'yung pinaka-nagbigay sa ‘kin ng high during my StarStruck days,” he said.

 

The Kapuso actor also pointed out how the competition developed his character to the hilt. Although he remains to be grounded despite stardom, he feels a lot wiser and more mature because of what they had to go through in the show.

 

“Simpleng tao pa rin [ako ngayon] pero siguro mas matalino na ko ngayon sa buhay. Alam ko na mga priorities ko [and] I know what kind of person I am now. This time, I know what my strengths and weaknesses are,” he shared.

 

At a young age, he also learned how to become a professional. He realized how important it is to work hard and be kind.

 

“You have to be on time, you have to put on a pleasant smile in front of people kasi you’re a public figure. You have to put your heart into it talaga. Kailangan maging passion mo siya. [Hindi puwedeng] ginagawa mo lang dahil kailangan. You have to love it. I did and it has gotten me really good projects,” he added.

 

The Beautiful Strangers star is thankful to be able to go through the training ground that is StarStruck and acknowledges the significant role it has played in his acting career.

 

“This is the time of my life when I’m capitalizing on everything. Prime ko na ‘to eh, so hataw na… [Because of StarStruck, no matter what I get to achieve, I will always] love what I do and remain humble and always love the people who support [me. I hope the new batch will also] learn to appreciate and always look back,” he concluded.
