The Gilas Pilipinas team ended the six-decade medal drought of the nation in Asian basketball after beating Jordan, 70-60, in the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
According to the report by GMA News Online, Justin Brownlee led Gilas with 20 points. This is also the first time that the country reached the gold medal match since bagging the silver medal in 1990.
Several celebrities like GMA Integrated News pillar Arnold Clavio and iBilib host Chris Tiu congratulated the Gilas Pilipinas squad for their historic win.
