Was Maine Mendoza heartbroken five months ago?

Aside from being the Dubsmash Queen of the Philippines and now a sought-after endorser, Maine Mendoza is also a poet.

 

In her blog (http://mainemendoza.com), she publishes her musings in the form of poems. Last May 19, she published an entry titled ‘Til Next Time, Love’ which piqued the interest of her readers.

 

I will always remember

How I felt every time I was with you;

I can never forget

All the things we’ve been through.

You gave me the love

Much more than what I deserve

Fed my soul with affection and intimacy–

Never tempted to stray from fidelity.

After all of my shortcomings

Still you were there to stay

And for all that you have done for me

I don’t think I could ever repay.

Maybe the two of us were meant to spend good time together;

Because every thing we had felt so right

And it was just the timing

That felt wrong.

 

A day after, she wrote a poem titled ‘Noon Blues’ which talked about how lost and different she had been feeling.

 

For some odd reason

I cannot seem to understand why

am I feeling this way.

For some odd reason

I feel like I am a different person.

For some odd reason

I feel like I’ve been lost

for a while now.

For some odd reason

I feel like a lot has changed–

all at once.

For some odd reason

I feel like something within me

abruptly went missing;

and for whatever reason it may be

I know for certain that it is you–

who will complete me.
